Technology

At Arid, we work hard to make the most advanced bikes in the world packed full of technology we designed in house.

The Obrit Bar

This it not a 4 bar. The Orbit bar is a custom small-footprint 6-bar suspension linkage that uses 2 large 42mm bearings and a custom CNC alloy puck with an offset hole that creates an orbital pivot to provide increased small-bump sensitivity and a strong pedal platform, all while keeping pedal kickback super low.

A 6-bar suspension system gives us more variables that we can use to tune every kinematic characteristic to the best ride feel possible. A big part of this was developing a unique tune with the engineers at Rockshox for both Vivid Air and Coil to suit the Spade.

Traction Flex

Holes in the chainstay? The Traction Flex chainstays allow the rear of the bike to twist and add traction to the bike without compromising stiffness. Traction where you need it and support where you want it.

The stiffness in the horizontal and vertical planes is high for a super supportive frame feel and precise suspension action. Because of this, the chainstays are also extremely durable.

Modular Frame

Adjust everything. With the Spade, you can turn one frame into many bikes. We worked hard to create an amazing “stock” setup for the Spade. You can take it out of the box, set it, and forget it, but if you like to tinker with your bike, you can change anything and everything. The Spade features 5 unique adjustments, including: reach, chainstay length, progression, wheel size, and travel.

The reach cups have a 10mm range and 3 positions to fit more riders per size. The dropouts let you switch between 29 and 27.5 rear wheel size without changing geo or kinematics. Thru-holes have a range of 437-457. The 4-position progression chip lets you adjust from 20% to 30%. The Spade has 3 different rocker links: 170 Enduro (stock), 150 Trail, and 200 DH coming in fall 2026.

Arid ReCycle

Parts made of recycled bikes. The linkage fender and the Snackbox door on the Spade are made of recycled carbon fiber mountain bikes. This is the first step towards our goal of fully sustainable manufacturing. We call this Arid ReCycle.

All brands in the industry throw their broken and aged carbon parts in the landfill, but we reuse those parts to make high-quality components.

Recycled ski jackets. Even our interinal frame bags that fit inside the Snack Box are made using recycled ski jackets. The frame bag keeps your tools and snacks in place and easy to grab.
